Bio: Scott Phelan, President.
Scott, has been involved with power electronics for 35 years.
He first worked as a technician for Computer Power Incorporated, Highbridge NJ. There he performed production testing of high power Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS) back up lighting and computer AC inverters in the 1 KVA to 100 KVA range with 50 and 60 Hz outputs and worldwide output voltage ranges.
After leaving CPI, Scott worked at ITT Electron Tube Division (now Triton Services) for a period of 13 years. His last position there was power supply engineer. While at ITT, Scott worked on a large number of various models of military TWT power supplies with power ranging from a few watts to approximately 2.5 KW, and voltages ranging from 3000 to 12000 VDC with input voltages of 28VDC, 270VDC, 115 VAC 60hZ, and 115/200V 400Hz 3 phase.
Scott left ITT for an opportunity to start a new power supply department at PRC Laser. There he started a power supply group, and designed two different model switching power supplies with output power ratings of 25kV @ 0.75A and 25kV @1.2A. These power supplies operated a fast flow axial CO2 laser used in the metal cutting industry. To date, over 1000 of these power supplies have been produced. During the stay at PRC Laser, Scott provided part time support and consulting services to a number of customers. After 5 years at PRC, Scott decided that it was time to change the part time consulting business into something larger. That was 14 years ago, and we are growing steadily.
